Interview with Jamie Lynn Spears
Ryan Seacrest: What was your reaction when you found out you were pregnant?
Jamie: I was in complete shock. I didn't know what to think. It is something that is out of our hands now, and we are going to make the best of it.
Ryan: How did you know you wanted to keep the baby?
Jamie: I took time to myself before telling everyone, so that their opinions didn't effect my decision. It was a really scary situation, so I told my best friend, and eventually my parents. In the end, I decided to keep the baby.
Ryan: How did you tell Casey (boyfriend)?
Jamie: I told him in person the next day, and he supported our decision one hundred percent.
Ryan: How did you tell your mom that you were pregnant?
Jamie: I wrote a note to my mom and gave it to her while I was sitting in the other room. As soon as she was done reading it, I walked back in to talk to her. She was upset at first because I was so young and she did not expect it out of me. Later in the week, she became very supportive.
Ryan: How did you feel about your very first ultrasound?
Jamie: I was supported by Casey and my mom, and it was a total shock. But when I saw the actual image, I realized that everything was going to be okay.
Ryan: At such a young age, did you feel comfortable with your body image?
Jamie: It just feel natural for your body to change, and it is nice to have my mom support me and guiding me.
Ryan: Any preference of gender? Or did you want it to be a surprise?
Jamie: I did not want it to be a surprise because I am very impatient. To me, the gender does not matter. I just want a healthy baby.
Ryan: Do you have any names in line?
Jamie: I do not have any names in mind yet. I will need to do some research in baby name books.
Ryan: Have you had any morning sickness?
Jamie: At first, it was really bad and I definitely felt it. It is getting better as the weeks progress.
Ryan: Have you had any food cravings recently?
Jamie: Im not eating that much. I do not really have an appetite.
Ryan: How are you preparing for the baby to come home?
Jamie: I have not had time to think about where the baby will sleep or any other preparations because I am too excited.
Ryan: Any plans on getting married or the wedding?
Jamie: We live with our parents because at the moment we are just focusing on the baby. We want the baby to be as healthy as possible, so we aren't paying any attention to our relationship at the moment.
Ryan: Do you think you will be a good mom?
Jamie: I have the support from my mom and friends. I also love babies, and I babysit my little nephews all the time. Most of my friends also have little brothers and sisters, so I have the support from them.
Ryan: Do you think Casey will make a good father?
Jamie: He loves children, especially babies. I believe he will make a really good dad.
Ryan: What are your hopes for 2008?
Jamie: Im just hoping for a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and to become a stronger and more responsible person.
Ryan: Any advice from Lynn (Mom)?
Jamie: She always tells me to be strong.
Ryan: What are your thoughts on premarital sex?
Jamie: In my opinion, I do not think it is the right thing to do and it is better to wait. However, I cannot judge because I put myself in that situation.
